1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Nora Financial (“Nora,” “the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
You must be at least 18 years old and a resident of the United States to use Nora Financial.
2. Description of Service
Nora Financial is a personal finance management application that helps users track spending, monitor net worth, and identify better financial products. The Service connects to your financial accounts through Plaid Technologies, Inc. (“Plaid”) to retrieve account and transaction data.
Nora Financial is an informational tool only. Nothing in the Service constitutes financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. Always consult a qualified professional before making financial decisions.
3. Account Registration and Security
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
- You must provide accurate and complete registration information
- You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account at security@nora-financial.com
- We are not liable for any loss resulting from unauthorized use of your account that occurs before notification
4. Financial Account Connections (Plaid)
By linking a financial account through Plaid Link, you authorize Plaid to access, retrieve, and transmit your financial account information on our behalf. Your use of Plaid is governed by Plaid's End User Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
You may disconnect your financial accounts at any time through the app settings. Nora Financial does not store your banking username or password.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Service or related systems
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
- Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access the Service without our written consent
- Provide false information or impersonate any person or entity
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service
6. Data and Privacy
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the Service, you consent to the collection and use of your data as described in the Privacy Policy.
7. Intellectual Property
All content, features, and functionality of the Service — including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, and software — are owned by Nora Financial and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our express written permission.
8. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT FINANCIAL DATA DISPLAYED WILL BE ACCURATE OR COMPLETE. FINANCIAL DATA IS PROVIDED BY YOUR FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS THROUGH PLAID AND MAY CONTAIN ERRORS OR DELAYS.
9. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, NORA FINANCIAL SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF, OR INABILITY TO USE, THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF $100 OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE PAST 12 MONTHS.
10. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause or notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms or for any other reason. You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us or using the account deletion feature in the app. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.
11. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes via email or a prominent notice on our website. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in California.
